Poetry
This page is dedicated to my work thus far within poetry. I don't usually spend my time writing poems but during my junior year I took ENGL 1000: Creative Writing.

It was in this space that I realized how freeing poetry can be, both in its instruction and influence. The photo to the right is the last page in my handmade journal, I rarely use it as it houses the pressed flowers I snagged from my grandfathers funeral bouquet but recently starting writing my poems in it.

That's just the way it goes

This poem was the outcome of a long night of a reflection and acceptance. These past four years have been full of curveballs and uncertainty but at the end of the day, thats just the way it goes. Took me a bit to get to this point but it has changed my entire outlook on life.
Ain't No Music but Ours

This poem was written from a string of one liners in my Notes app after a long summer apart from my partner. I never thought to write my own love poems or songs because I usually look to music and others words to do my talking. But this truly spoke to me over time and is one of my more personal poems.

Muddy Waters
This poem came from these past weeks of constant rain and dreariness. As my time in Denver is coming to an end, it seems fitting that the weather is reflecting by uncertainty and sadness about the whole ordeal. But nonetheless, this weather and my soon departure of what has been home for four years, isn't stopping me from taking one more step, even if its in the muddy water.
