WRIT 2000: Theories of Writing
University of Denver - Spring 2023
Overview
In this course, students explored a range of theories related to writing and focused on different research related issues that relate to the state and status of writing and writers.

Through the exploration of theories and their significance, we also. gained insight into the relations among thought, speech, writing, image, film, and sounds, and how they change our understanding of what texts are and that they can really do.

Below is a featured creative nonfiction piece from my time in Writ 2000.
"Unrolling the Stories: A Journey with my Yoga Mat" is the piece I came up with for my Creative Nonfiction assignment, similar to a travel writing piece or a memoir to a specific item or symbol within my everyday life. This work explored my personal journey with yoga and my relationship to my mat. I discuss my own practice and its evolution overtime as well as dive into the history and significance of yoga mats. I truly enjoyed writing this piece, yoga is an integral part of my daily routine and through this piece I realized how significant my mat is to me and how it holds a deeper meaning within myself and my commitment to my health and happiness.
